Abstract: VicRoads inaccurately describes this project as a CFI even though it has no CFI crossovers. The proposed design has one Paraflow movement and 2 Thruturn movements. No provision is made for right turns from eastbound Swan unto southbound Hoddle. This is first of 4 intersections on Hoddle to be converted to 2-phase operation. VicRoads expects to convert all 4 intersections for a total of AU$60 million.
Abstract: This is a brand-new intersection originally built as a CFI. It's the second CFI in Maryland, and is of a similiar design to the first, with both being T-intersections with a single crossover on the terminating leg. Opened November 2014.
Abstract: Formerly this interchange had ramps only to and from points north on I-57 due to nearby interchange at IL-13. New ramps braided with the ramps of that SPUI.
Abstract: Just like a split diamond, 2 cross-streets are served by a single set of freeway ramps. In this case, each cross-street has a single large roundabout.
